INAUGURAL JAALS JUNIOR CONFERENCE
JAALS Foundation formerly inaugurated the JAALS Students Connect at the University of Ibadan on the 20th of November 2024. It was a 3 in 1 event: The Inauguration and Unveiling of the JAALS Students Connect, The Unveiling and Presentation of Prize Money to the Winners of the Wola Joseph – Condotti Essay Competition, Conferment of JSC Patron and Matron, and Royal Ambassador to JAALS Foundation.
The keynote speech delivered by Mr Yakubu Galadima, Esq, Managing Partner, Marble Partners LP on the theme ''From Gown to Town: Unveiling the Keys to a Success Driven Career in the 21st Century'' emphasizing the importance of resilience, adaptability, and innovation in today's fast-paced world. Mr Galadima advised students to develop a growth mind-set, be open to learning, and embrace failure as a stepping stone to success.
The event was chaired by the Former Commissioner of Police Lagos State and the Special Adviser to the Oyo State Government on Security Matters, Mr Fatai Owoseni in his Chairman's Remark encouraged the young individuals to take initiative and leverage on globalization.
A reactor panel session was held immediately after the keynote speech to attend to thought provoking questions from the students which witnessed Mr Yakubu Galadima, Dr Tolu Aderemi and Mrs Wola Joseph – Condotti who addressed each of the questions and discussed each of the questions thoughtfully and carefully.
Goodwill Messages from the Dean, Faculty of Law University of Ibadan, Prof John Akintayo, Mrs Wola Joseph – Condotti, GMD, Westpower Oil and Gas LTD, Mrs Olaide Odega, representing the Chairman, Board of Trustees, JAALS Foundation, Mrs Delayo Oriekun, Co-Chair, NBAWF, all lauded this initiative by JAALS Foundation and advised all the young individuals present to seize the opportunity and become change makers.
The Part 2 of the event witnessed the formal inauguration of the 7 man exco of the JAALS Students Connect, who were admonished by the Director of JAALS Foundation, Dr Tolu Aderemi and Prof John Akintayo to uphold the virtues and standards of the foundation and be worthy emissaries. Mary Boluwatife, Damillola Ogunbona and Fortunata Ogunjobi emerged top 3 at the Wola Joseph – Condotti Essay Competition for Female Undergraduates where they exhibited intellectual prowess and have been singled out of over 65 entries for this competition and were awarded exceptionally, with Mary Boluwatife emerging winner. The last part witnessed the Conferment of Patron on Mr Yakubu Galadima, Esq, Matron on Mrs Wola Joseph-Condotti and Royal Ambassador of the JAALS Foundation on HRM Oba Adetokunbo Tejuosho, Orile Kemta 1 of Ilu Kemta all approved by the Board of Trustees of JAALS Foundation. HRM Oba Tejuosho on behalf of the honorees gave an acceptance speech, stating how grateful all the honorees are and how they will positively impact the next generation on with all the gifts they currently have.
