WALK4JUSTICE 2026

Walk4Justice is the JAALS Foundation’s flagship annual justice reform initiative, created to move advocacy beyond statements and into practical, sustained action. Each year, we bring together partners and justice sector stakeholders to strengthen the systems, institutions, and people responsible for delivering justice in Nigeria. Through Walk4Justice and our year-round programmes, we advance justice reform through targeted capacity-building, institutional support, advocacy, and direct interventions. Our work includes monthly prison outreaches that provide support to inmates and correctional facilities, reintegration support for trafficked Nigerians returning from abroad in partnership with the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) amongst others.

As part of our expanding institutional work, we are also strengthening the capacity of justice sector agencies through a training programme for officials of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). This programme focuses on digital literacy and technical capacity development to improve efficiency across investigation and prosecution processes. Our work is strengthened through collaboration with partners such as the Women in Prison Support Initiative (WIPSI), whose focus on correctional advocacy and rehabilitation aligns with our commitment to dignity, reform, and reintegration within the justice system. Every year, Walk4Justice is our reminder that reform is not abstract. It is practical, continuous, and people-centred. Through it, we continue to push for a justice system that works—not just in principle, but in practice.
