JAALS Training for Bailiffs
On the 2nd and 3rd of April 2024, JAALS Foundation in partnership with SHAN Consulting organized a two days intensive training course for bailiffs of the federal high court in Nigeria.
Originally the JAALS Foundation mission was to train the registrars of the federal high court, after a couple of advice and recommendation from the leadership of the court, JAALS then committed to the training of the court bailiffs.
The training concept encompass the principles of fair hearing, which are essential in any legal system. The training focused on the importance of ensuring effective service of court processes, carrying out court orders also proper understanding of the sheriff and civil processes act.
The chief judge ably represented by the Admin Judge of the federal high court Hon Justice A.O Faaji in his opening remark commended the initiative by JAALS Foundation for organizing this training and also advised everyone that the quest for justice is not a sprint but a marathon and as such determination, resilience and focus will keep you going in the quest for justice.
Mr Tolu Aderemi the Director and Board secretary for JAALS Foundation in his remark referred to the bailiffs as the unsung heroes in the administration of justice. One of the Keynote speakers Mr Bidemi Amusa, the Managing Director Carrillion Consultants having heard some of the discuss and complains volunteered to partner with JAALS Foundation to renovate the Bailiff section of the federal high court.
